Secunderabad Junction railway stationSecunderabad SC Jn Railway Station is a major intercity and commuter rail railway station in Hyderabad. The railway station comes under South Central Railway Zone of Indian Railways. The station was built in 1874 by Nizam of Hyderabad during British rule. The station came under Indian Railways in 1951. The railway station is a tourist attraction in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad due to its fort like structure.
Station is connected to all regions of India. Daily there are about 1,70,000 passengers arriving and departing the station on 229 trains. Secunderabad is zone headquarters of the South Central Railway and the headquarters of the SCR Secunderabad Division. The station has received ISO 9001 certification for quality management in ticket booking, parcel and luggage booking. The station has 10 platforms. Each platform is capable of handling a train with over 24 coaches.
